76th Maintenance Wing Quality Assurance team gives back to the community Published Dec. 4, 2009 76th Maintenance Wing TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Volunteers from the 76th Maintenance Wing Quality Assurance organization recently teamed up to help those in need during the holiday season, collecting more than 340 coats for the homeless. "We have supported the Jesus House by providing coats for several years now," said Jeff Robey, who organized the coat drive. "The contributions just keep getting larger and larger. There is definitely a need and volunteers from our organization are making a difference in people's lives." Todd Schoonover also organized a food drive for the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank. Volunteers collected more than 200 pounds of food that was turned in Nov. 23 to help the local community for Thanksgiving. "I am amazed every year at the generosity of the people in our organization. We have contributed to the Infant Crisis Center and the Regional Food bank for the past several years now, and the involvement and enthusiasm I get from our people is overwhelming," Mr. Schoonover said. Volunteers within the Quality Assurance organization are now collecting baby items for the Infant Crisis Center. "This is the time of year to be thankful of what we have and to give something back to help those who are less fortunate than we are. This is just our way to help someone through the holidays. I am proud to be part of a great organization that has the holiday spirit," said Dan McCabe, 76th MXW/QA chief.
