The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center Engineering and Technical Management Directorate recently named its Employee and Team of the Quarter.

Employee of the Quarter: Kenneth Wimer is a program analyst in the Enterprise Engineering Division. The unit has been front and center on the Air Force transformation effort. As the center point of contact for the eTools portion of the Enhanced Technical Information System deployment, Mr. Wimer has demonstrated professional skills, ranging from high-level briefings to facilitating the solutions to the ever-evolving challenges associated with the initiative. With a projected 1,025 ruggedized laptops, at a total of $1.77 million, the project scope is compounded by layers of complexity related to workstation configuration and infrastructure requirements. The logistics of this effort are complicated, but Mr. Wimer manages all facets. In addition to the project workload, he serves as a critical subject matter expert in two black belt projects; one, associated with the MWS effort, and a second black belt concerning the F100 TOs in implementation of a digitization project.

Team of the Quarter: The Technical Order Warehouse Team of the Enterprise Engineering Division. Team members are: Gerald Ozment, Oran Wallace, Deborah Guinn, Jorge Chavez and Margaret Webb. The TO Warehouse Closure Team had one goal in mind; completely shut down a 92,000 square-foot warehouse stacked from floor to ceiling with paper TOs in a logical, timely manner. The team completed many actions to finish the project including establishing a black belt and a Rapid Improvement Event for TO managers, the TO warehouse staff, the OC-ALC/ENGLA staff, the Army group from the St. Louis warehouse and team members from Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The team's personal goal for closing was Aug. 3. The last truck left Tinker on July 16, beating all expectations. They worked with the recycling group to constantly have trucks recycling the salvaged technical orders which almost became a full-time job. They also worked with OC-ALC/ENR to plan a terrific closure ceremony which included Maj. Gen. David Gillett and John Over in which the keys to the warehouse were turned over to the 72nd Air Base Wing. The TO Warehouse Team exceeded all expectations and saved the Air Force $300,000 in first year savings.
