Tinker units underwent a multi-command Operational Readiness Inspection last week. The reports were delivered Monday for the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, the 552nd Air Control Wing and the 3rd Combat Communications Group. The units were scored using a five-tier rating scale - outstanding, excellent, satisfactory, marginal and unsatisfactory. While the ratings in specific areas cannot be released, the commanders shared their thoughts on Team Tinker's performance during the Inspector Generals' visit.

Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center

The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center scored an "Excellent" rating on last week's operational readiness inspection.

"Thanks to the entire OC-ALC team, your performance was exceptional and I am proud of you. You proved once again that you are an awesome team and you exceed my expectations every day," said Maj. Gen. David Gillett, OC-ALC commander. "Thanks also to our partners in DLA and GLSC for their exceptional support. Finally, thanks to the AFMC IG team for a fair and thorough inspection."

76th Maintenance Wing

"This ORI was to evaluate our ability to execute our wartime mission. There is no higher priority for the 76th Maintenance Wing or for the people who work around the center. The IG's evaluation should make everyone proud! We proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are ready, and able to meet any challenge," said Brig. Gen. Bruce Litchfield, 76th MXW commander.

327th Aircraft Sustainment Wing

"The ASW team provides extraordinary warfighter support every day, and the Air Force Materiel command inspectors agreed! The IG's rating recognizes the teamwork, talent and sense of urgency demonstrated daily by the ASW's dedicated professionals. These IG kudos also belong to the many OC-ALC teams, AFGLSC and Defense Logistics Agency that partner with the ASW in meeting warfighter needs," said Col. Mark Beierle, 327th ASW, commander.

72nd Air Base Wing

"I'm proud of the job the 72nd Air Base Wing did in helping Tinker AFB shine during this inspection. The hard work and dedication of our Wildcatters shows in the 'Excellent' grade we achieved here at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center. Going forward we'll continue to work and train and improve so that we can keep providing world-class support," said Col. Allen Jamerson, 72nd ABW and Tinker installation commander.

552nd Air Control Wing

"The 552nd Air Control Wing faced some steep challenges during the ORI. I'm proud of the strong effort my Airmen made last week. We did very well in many ways, while still supporting our day-to-day global mission of providing premier Command and Control and Battle Management to combatant commanders around the world. During the ORI we identified some areas for improvement, and we will use the next few months to focus on those areas with the same remarkable enthusiasm that the IG team noted during the inspection," said Col. Patricia Hoffman commander of the 552nd Air Control Wing.

3rd Combat Communications Group

During the inspection last week, the 3rd CCG received a rating of "Satisfactory."

"I am extremely proud of your outstanding effort leading up to and during this ORI. You brought up flawless communications, establishing service to more sites than any other Combat Communications unit. You managed the scrutiny of two command Inspector General teams and contended with the beginnings of our culture change to Air Force Space Command. While we will see changes to our areas of focus as this transition continues, I could not be happier with your performance. You proved without a doubt that you can accomplish our mission anytime, anywhere," said Col. Thomas Byrge, commander of the 3rd Combat Communications Group.
