The Tinker United Soccer Club proved it's not all about luck on Sunday.

The Tinker teamsters showed there's plenty of skill involved as they tied the Pure Luck squad 2-2, despite being down a red-carded player most of the Oct. 25 game.

Tinker drew first blood in minute 15 as Ryan Wilson booted in a penalty kick incurred from an in-box handball by Pure Luck.

But Pure Luck quickly answered back with its own penalty kick goal to tie the game at 1-1. At minute 24, Brian Bogue's shot-on-goal rang true for Tinker as he scored on a kick just outside the left line 18-yard box.

True to their name, Pure Luck wouldn't be stopped though, and scored in minute 70 of the second half to knot the final score at 2-2.

Offense continues to plague the Tinker club, which scored only two goals in its last three games, and one of those from a penalty kick.

"Our defense played well considering we were down one player most of the game," team captain Nathaniel Caldon said. "We are still missing a lot of the scoring impact we need to be an extremely successful team. There are still three games left before the play-offs for us to try and improve on these aspects."

Tinker plays the Wiz soccer club Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the South Lakes Soccer Complex.
