Mixed Nuts win, advance to title match Published Oct. 9, 2009 By John Stuart Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Mixed Nuts squad took down a scrappy Cogito Ergo Boom team Oct. 6 before moving on to the championship match later that evening. Although the Cogito Ergo Boom team showed its brawn, the Mixed Nuts won in two matches: 24-21 and 25-15. Cogito Ergo Boom ("we think therefore we spike") made their showing in the semi-finals despite losing two players mid-season. Jon Edgerton and Stefanie Deitrich deployed during the season. Although league play is over for the year, the volleyball is still going. Pick up matches are held each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Gerrity Fitness Center gym. Everyone is welcome.
