Sharks take a bite out of Nordiques Published Sept. 24, 2009 By John E. Banks Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Tinker Nordiques losing skid stretched to seven games after a 5-0 shutout against the Sharks Sept. 20. "Our team has been struggling over the last month and we need to find the magic again heading into the playoffs," said James McCarron, Nordiques center and co-captain. The Sharks got on the board at 13:24 of the first period when right winger Jonathan Guidry tapped in a loose puck in front of Nordiques netminder Dan Publicover. The Nordiques tried to regroup in the second period. They peppered the Sharks goal with nine shots over the first four minutes of play, but were blanked on the scoreboard. The Sharks scored two goals midway through the second period, sealing the victory. "Our lack of defensemen on the blueline has caused us to make changes and you could see the result," said McCarron. The Sharks scored their last two goals during a four-minute power play in the third period.
