Bowling league readies for 2009-10 season

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 2009-10 Commanders Trophy Bowling League is gearing up for another action-packed season at the Tinker Bowling Center.

"I am hoping for another fun season of bowling and the hope that our team, Hellifino, can maintain our top ranking," said Traci Applebee, league president.

There are approximately 16 teams signed up for this year's league, which began on Tuesday and runs through April. The format for the league changed to incorporate a handicap of 180. The teams with the lower averages will be able to compete on a more even playing field with the teams with higher bowler averages this year.

Besides Applebee as president, other league officers for 2009-10 are Jamie Lowe, vice president; Mike Cumella, secretary; Dennis Shows, treasurer; and Dennis March, sergeant at arms.
