What kid wouldn't like to go to a deployed location with mom or dad?

The Airman and Family Readiness Center is making that happen Sept. 26 by giving kids a chance to go through the deployment line and see what happens after mom or dad gets dropped off at the Deployment Office.

Operation KUDOS -- Kids Understanding Deployed Operations -- is targeting children from 3 to 16 years old. This experience will help the kids understand the procedures that are there to ensure everyone is prepared to deploy. The process is designed to allow the children to have fun and get a few keepsakes along the way. Most importantly, the kids will have a better understanding of the deployment process, which might be hard to explain without going through it themselves.

With all of the people being deployed it is understandable that the kids and even spouses have a lot of questions. Airman and Family Readiness Center hopes this will serve as a way to educate kids and spouses alike and answer some of their questions and basically put their minds at ease as much as possible.

This is a family event and the whole family is invited.

Operation KUDOS will begin in the 552nd Operations Group auditorium. Kids are encouraged to wear mom or dad's BDU shirt or hat. The children will also be issued dog tags/ID cards. They will get pre-deployment briefs, process the mobility line, get on an E-3 and then land at Camp Courage where they will have the opportunity to see what life in the deployed location is like.
