Tinker 2009 housing survey set for kickoff Published Aug. 27, 2009 By Brion Ockenfels Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Tinker's Balfour Beatty Community's military housing residents will receive a personal invitation from BBC customer service staff going door- to-door to complete the 2009 Family Housing Resident/Tenant Customer Satisfaction Survey beginning Sept. 1. The survey closes Oct. 7. Cindy Murillo, Tinker's BBC community manager, said, "Our goal is 100 percent contact with our military members or spouses living on base. If they haven't received a knock on the door by Sept. 5, we want to know. "Our customer service team has set high goals. We what to know how we're doing and we want to know how we can do better." she said. "We are going to do everything possible to encourage 100 percent participation," said Patrick McVey, Life Works coordinator. "We have many fun events planned to help remind residents about the importance of their feedback and completing the survey." "We encourage Tinker residents to complete their survey as soon as possible," said Col. Allen Jamerson, 72nd Air Base Wing commander. "The more participants we have, the more accurate survey results will be and the greater emphasis we can place on making the recommended changes." At Tinker, some of the events planned include survey completion parties, burger burns and opportunities for all families to enter up to 4 different drawings to win $100 American Express certificates. One lucky family will win one months' rent free. "We have one catch," said Mr. McVey. "To participate in the drawings, a completed survey must be turned-in." The survey is completely anonymous and can seem fairly detail, but will only take the average family about 20 minutes to complete said Mr. McVey. According to Carol Hill, housing privatization program manager at the 72nd Civil Engineer Directorate, the survey will address residents' satisfaction regarding privatized housing, property appearance and condition, management, maintenance services, and characteristics of their home. "The Air Force with BBC are working hard to provide Tinker residents the best housing conditions possible, so this survey is vital in helping us to reach our goals," Ms. Murillo said. "To help us meet the goals of the Tinker community we serve, we need high participation levels from our entire community here at Tinker, weather you are Air Force, Navy, Army or Marine, we appreciate everyone's support in completing the survey," she said Ms. Hill said a summary of the survey results will be provided to senior leaders at to address future housing needs. "The survey can directly affect the housing environment at Tinker AFB and can impact the Air Force overall housing privatization initiative," said Ms. Hill. "It is essential to the program's success," Ms. Murillo said. "Feedback is needed to ensure housing management decisions reflect accurately the satisfaction levels of new and renovated housing and the housing privatization efforts at Tinker." Overall survey results and trends will be available through a third party, independent survey team, CEL & Associates, after survey results are tallied, said Ms. Murillo. If you have any questions regarding the survey, contact Balfour Beatty Communities. Tinker residents are encouraged to take a few minutes to give feedback on how the contractor is doing and how they can improve homes. Call Ms. Murillo at 610-3637 for more information.
