The Tinker Nordiques notched their fifth consecutive win and remained unbeaten in their last six contests with a 6-5 victory over the Sharks in Oklahoma City Adult Hockey League Division II action July 26 at the Blazers Ice Centre.

The Nordiques got off to a quick start in the first period, scoring their first goal on a power play at 8:21. Defenseman Chris Beatty scored the goal on a pass from center Jeremy Brennan. On the Nordiques' second goal of the period, defenseman James Behn dropped a pass to right winger Bryson Harley, a new player on the Tinker team, who sent a quick shot in the left corner of the net.

The Sharks tallied an early goal at 3:21 of period two to cut the deficit in half.

The Nordiques increased their lead to 3-1 on a semi-breakaway by Harley. His double deke fooled the Sharks and he was able to lift a wrist shot into the right hand corner of the net at 7:29. The Sharks scored on a breakaway goal by right winger Jeff Mullins to cut the lead to 3-2 at 11:26 of the second period.

The Nordiques regained their two-goal lead as a three-way passing play resulted in their fourth goal of the game. James McCarron took a pass from Brennan at center ice and then sent a pass through the slot to Harley, who lifted the puck into the net at 12:31.

The Nordiques struck quickly at the 45 second mark of period three as Harley sent a cross-ice pass in front of the Sharks' net. McCarron jammed at puck twice and finally pushed it in, giving the Nordiques a 5-2 advantage.

The Sharks scored three consecutive goals with four minutes of play to tie the score at 5.

The game winning goal came at the 14:21 mark as Harley tallied his fourth goal of the contest on a pass from McCarron and Brennan.

"This guy is pretty good for being a newbie," said Behn.

The win puts the Nordiques all alone in first place with a 5-2-1 record. The loss drops the Sharks into second place with a 4-3-1 record.

The three stars of the game were Harley with four goals and an assist, McCarron with one goal and two assists, and Brennan with three assists.
