The weather wasn't the only thing hot on June 22. The Swingers' bats were on fire at the Tinker Sports Complex as the team cruised to a 22-1 win over the 72nd Security Forces Squadron.

"We are trying to keep ahead of our opponents till we get all of our players on the field," said Robert Mahan, Swingers head coach.

The Swingers had to mix and match some of the players and positions.

"We have a number of players not available to us until mid July and we just have to piece it together until then," said Mahan.

The Swingers scored early and often against the Cops. The hitting stars were first baseman Bud Cox and right fielder Bama Phillips. Each player drove in three runs with a home run and a double, respectively, in the second inning, leading the Swingers a 7-0 advantage.

The lead increased in the third inning as each hitter in the Swingers lineup had one RBI to end the scoring at 22-1.

The victory keeps the Swingers in first place in the Monday Night League standings with a perfect 8-0 record; while the loss drops the 72nd SFS 1-7 on the season.
