Welcome to the Employee Assistance Program.

Tinker has two licensed professional counselors on base: Brenda Ferguson at 734-6687 and Bob Magar at 734-6691. The toll free number, 1-800-222-0364, will be answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

EAP offers free counseling with up to six sessions available per incident, per year. There is no charge of leave for the first session if duty hours are used.

This counseling service is available to all civilian government employees and their immediate family members, civilian government employees married to military and their immediate family members and nonappropriated fund employees and their immediate family members.

EAP is confidential, within the limits of the law, and has an independent computer system to further enhance confidentiality.

EAP is voluntary.

An EAP counselor will assess the problem, provide short-term counseling or problem solving and refer the employee to the appropriate resource if necessary. Then EAP will follow-up to ensure the employee receives appropriate care.

EAP helps with relationship problems at work, home or both, stress issues, difficulties with grief, anxiety and depression concerns, problems with alcohol or drugs, legal and financial concerns and any other issue.

EAP also offers management consultations to all supervisors and managers regarding an employee, whether the employee's situation is work related or not.

Free briefings are available on more than 50 topics, including EAP orientations, stress management, balancing work and personal life, effective communication and healthy lifestyles.

To get a briefing list, e-mail one of the EAP counselors at brenda.s.ferguson.ctr@tinker.af.mil or bobby.magar.ctr@tinker.af.mil.

Tinker's EAP office is located on the east end of Bldg. 244, between A and B Avenues on First Street. If coming from Bldg. 3001, proceed around the north end of the runway. Take a left at the stop sign on A Avenue. Continue on A Avenue, past the stop sign at Arnold Street. You will be heading toward Bldg. 240 and the flight line. At First Street, make a right. EAP is about half a block down on the left. The sign says: Counseling and Consulting Office. Enter directly into the waiting room, ring the bell and have a seat. One of the counselors will come and great you. Because EAP shares a building with the Honor Guard, do not park in Honor Guard designated parking spaces.
