Did you know? Prescription eyeglasses for deployment Published April 30, 2009 By 72nd MDG TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- Did you know that to assure readiness all Airmen should have two pairs of prescription eyeglasses and spectacle inserts for gas masks (if applicable) at all times? If you require prescription eyewear to see clearly at distance, this applies to you. These items must be readily available at all times, especially with the currently high tempo of operations. If you do not have two pairs of glasses and/or gas mask inserts, please call or visit the optometry clinic as soon as possible so we can order those for you. If you haven't had an eye exam in the past 12 months, we will do that before ordering a new prescription. The clinic number is 736-2266. If you have a deployment coming up, let us know and we will make your appointment a priority. It is best to have at least three to four weeks to order glasses before you leave.
