Effects of unsafe relationships can be dangerous Published April 24, 2009 By Family Advocacy office TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- Wellness -- it's a concept dependent on so many aspects of life. If there's a problem in any one area, you're not completely well. In particular, relationships can be a huge factor in determining how you function in other areas of your life. If you're unhappy with your partner, it can affect not only your emotional and physical health, but also your job performance. If you are in an unsafe relationship, the effects can be devastating, both to yourself and to your children. Family Advocacy will have information available at the 552nd Air Control Wing Safety Day on May 8 to help people recognize whether or not they may be in an unsafe relationship. There will also be brochures at our booth on our complete range of services, which includes marriage counseling and our couples communications class, PREP. If you have serious concerns that you might be at risk from your partner, don't wait. Call Family Advocacy now at 734-4390 or ask for Selonda Moseley, the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate at 706-2158, weekdays from noon to 4 p.m. After duty hours, weekends and holidays, you can reach the on-call Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate at 706-2210. Of course, if you are in immediate danger, call 911.
