Banks Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- The spring winds hit the soccer pitch at the Airman Leadership School Field on April 9 as the 38th Engineering Installation Group and 31st Combat Communications Squadron Atomic Dogs tested their skills against each other. The 38th EIG prevailed with a 3-1 win. The 38th EIG got on the score sheet twice in the first half. The first tally came at 16:45 as forward David McNiff sent a crossing pass through the crease and Pedro Martinez made a dive at goal and deflected it in. The second goal of the half came as 38th EIG fullback David Compton lofted a high pass to forward Paul Dormier, who sent a high kick over the goalkeeper's head, putting the 38th EIG up by two at halftime. The 38th EIG wrapped up the scoring late in the second half as Martinez scored on a breakaway to seal the game at 3-1. "Both teams deserve a lot of credit for playing in these windy conditions," said Compton. The win improves 38th EIG record to 2-2-1; while the loss drops the 31st Atomic Dogs to 2-2.
