Nominate your best for the 76th MXW 6S awards program Published April 10, 2009 By 76th Maintenance Wing TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- The 6S Program uses a set of steps that introduce orderliness and organization while also providing for a safer more efficient work environment. It is a contribution of the lean approach to business improvement that anyone can use to improve workplaces and work processes. Here is what 6S stands for: Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety. The 76th Maintenance Wing is sponsoring a quarterly competition to recognize work centers for innovative improvements, making them cleaner, safer, more organized and more efficient. Nominations will be accepted until April 15. To submit your work center, please follow these two easy steps: Perform a 6S Event in your unit/flight or work center. Nominate your unit/flight/workcenter by e-mail to the applicable group or staff 6S lead by April 15. The e-mail must include the name of the work center supervisor, name of each 6S team member actively involved and the office symbol of the work center being nominated. No written package is needed, just the names of the work center and supervisor and 6S team members. Inspections will be held shortly after the nominations are recieved.
