Social Security to join with Tinker Air Force Base for information fair Published March 27, 2009 By Social Security Administration TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- The Social Security Administration of Oklahoma City will join other federal and state agencies for a three-day information fair April 30-May 2, that promises to benefit military personnel, their families, civilian employees and retirees of Tinker Air Force Base. For the first time, representatives from Social Security, the Oklahoma Insurance Department and Oklahoma's Disability Determination Division (a special component of the state's Department of Rehabilitation) will be on hand just outside the base exchange to answer questions about these complicated programs. In addition to giveaways and other promotional material, Social Security is planning special demonstrations of available offerings through its online services website at www.socialsecurity.gov. People are encouraged to bring their questions and issues about retirement, disability, Medicare and the Wounded Warrior program for on-the-spot information. In addition to military personnel and families, civilian employees and retirees are invited to drop by and have their questions answered. Representatives will be on hand each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
