The streaking Cocky Walkers continued their success on the lanes with a 3346-3136 victory over a pesky "Here 4" quintet March 18 at the Tinker Bowling Center.

The Walkers got off to a fast start in game one behind the strike bowling of Dallas Thompson. He strung together four consecutive strikes to give his team an early 607-590 lead.

The hot bowling continued through the middle frames as fellow bowler Eric Joseph threw three strikes in a row to lengthen the lead to 792-778.

However, the "Here 4" squad rallied from a 14-pin deficit and to capture the victory. The rally was spearheaded by anchor bowler Darrell Gentry as he threw five strikes over the last three frames to give his team a 1062-1044 win.

"That was fun. It is exiting when our team pulls it all together," said Gentry. The Walkers regrouped in the second game, led by Thompson and Joseph. The two combined for 15 strikes and led their side to a lopsided 1199-1083 win.

"Our team put it al together in game two," said Mike Cumella. "The games rolled by Thompson and Joseph were a huge help."

The third and final game of the match was a mirror image of game two. Thompson and Joseph continued their torrid bowling pace and, coupled with the resurgence of Cumella and teammate James Wong, scored an impressive 1103-991 win.

The four Cocky Walkers bowlers combined for 25 strikes between them for the entire game. This was the deciding factor in the outcome of the game.

"It is difficult for our opponents when our lowest scoring bowler, Wong, steps up and rolls a great game," said Cumella.

The win gives the Cocky Walkers a firm grasp on second place with a 132.0-68.0 record. The loss drops "Here 4" to seventh place with a 101-0-99.0 record.
