Tinker Hawks skate past P-Men Published March 19, 2009 By John E. Banks Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- The Tinker Can Am Hawks continued their winning ways with a 4-3 victory over the pesky P-Men in Oklahoma City Adult Hockey League Division II action at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena on March 15. The Hawks came into the contest clinging to a one point lead in the standings and were looking to keep their modest four-game winning streak alive. The Hawks got on the scoreboard first as center Jason Stefanski scored on a pass from left winger Jeremy Brennan to make it 1-0 at 6:21 of period one. The Hawks increased their to lead to 2-0 as Stefanski sent a cross ice pass to defenseman Chris Horner, whose blistering slap shot found the back of the net. The Hawks went up by three goals at the 2:45 mark of period two as Stefanski drilled a quick wrist shot from the right hand side of net. The P-Men's comeback started at the end of period two. They scored a pair of goals to cut the lead to 3-2 by the second intermission. Hawks goaltender James Behn challenged his team not to let the game slip away from them. And the Hawks responded. Stefanski completed his hat trick with a quick wrist shot to the top shelf of the net giving the Hawks a 4-2 lead at 5:24 of third period. The P-Men scored a goal late in the period, but the Hawks held on for their 12th win in 16 contests. Stefanski led the way for the Hawks with three goals and an assist. The win improved the Hawks record to 12-4, while the loss drops the P-Men to 6-8-1.
