The Tinker Chapel invites one and all to this year's National Prayer event. Capitalizing on the success of last year's event, we will once again hold the event as a luncheon.

Our guest speaker this year is the Air Force Deputy Chief of Chaplains, Chaplain (Brig. Gen.) David H. Cyr. As deputy chief, he assists the chief of Chaplains in directing and maintaining a trained, equipped and professional chaplain corps. This includes more than 2,200 chaplains and chaplain assistants from the active and Air Reserve components which provide opportunities for the free exercise of religion to all Air Force people and their families worldwide.

As a member of the Armed Forces Chaplains Board, he and other members advise the secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff on religious, ethical and quality of life concerns. Chaplain Cyr has been command chaplain for both Air Combat Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe, as well as commandant of the Air Force Chaplain Service Institute at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.

The National Prayer Luncheon will be held at the Tinker Club's ballroom at 11:30 a.m. March 24. Tickets are $7 each and must be purchased no later than close of business March 17. Those wanting tickets after the deadline must visit the base chapel.

The menu for the luncheon is the "Deli Lover's Delight," which includes turkey sandwich on a hoagie bun, potato salad, dessert and coffee/tea service. If you have a special dietary need, let us know at the time of purchasing tickets.
Tickets may be purchased from participating first sergeants, unit chaplains or from the staff at the Tinker Chapel.

For more information, call the chapel at 734-2111.
