The 72nd Medical Group strikes again with four individuals and three teams selected from the group, as the annual Air Force Medical Service award winners for 2008.

"The number of individual and team winners is incredible for a unit of this size. It is just a sampling of the outstanding people that make up the Medical Group and the job they do every day. We realize our patients are the reason we exist and are proud to provide the best care available to our Air Force family," said Col. Robert J. Marks, 72nd Medical Group commander.

Be it individuals or teams, the hard work and dedication does not go unrewarded. The medical service award program recognizes the accomplishments of personnel for their professional and outstanding contributions to the Air Force Medical Service.

The levels the nominees have to compete in are base, major command and Air Force. The bases of selection are accomplishments, self-improvements and impact to the work force and local communities.

"We're extremely proud that the Air Force validated what we already knew; our Airmen are providing outstanding support to Team Tinker and our beneficiaries in the local community. During a time of limited resources and unlimited challenges, it is rewarding to know that we have some of the best and brightest in the Air Force assigned to the 72nd Medical Group.

"Their performances prove that individual efforts are never lost--they're simply rolled up into one and produce winning teams! Our Airmen represented the wing, the group, their supervisors and themselves outstandingly. We could not be prouder of their achievements," said the group's superintendent, Chief Master Sgt. Mary Hagan.

The 2008 AFMS award winners are: Lt. Col. William Butcher, Medical Service Dental Corps Mobilization Augmentee of the Year; Maj. William C. Breedlove, Outstanding Resource Management Officer of the Year, Capt. Tisha D. Sutton, Air Force Company Grade Physical Therapist, Senior Airman Molly K. Wittry, Air Force Physical Medicine Apprentice, Human Performance Training Team of the Year, Air Force Best Large Base Health Promotion Program and Air Force Outstanding Category II Behavioral Health.
