Are you thinking about quitting tobacco? Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of smokers or smokeless-tobacco users who would like to quit.

The Health and Wellness Center wants to help by providing tobacco cessation orientation classes. These classes will provide information on how to quit, the two types of tobacco cessation programs available and how to obtain free medications by participating. Even if you are not ready to quit now, you can use this day to get prepared for hen you will quit for good.

You can start right now. Call the HAWC and sign up for a class on one of the days listed below.

If you have already decided to start the quitting process and wish to obtain medications through the HAWC, you are required to bring a signed tobacco cessation waiver form with your provider's signature and a prescription for Chantix, Zyban or nicotine patches to the second meeting. The form is available in the HAWC or CHPS offices or by e-mailing karen.blackwell@tinker.af.mil.

Classes are held at 1:30 p.m. in the 76th Propulsion Maintenance Group Conference Room A, Post #2WAE in Bldg. 3001. Upcoming classes are set for Feb. 13 and 20, March 13 and 20, April 10 and 17, May 8 and 15 and June 12 and 19.

Participants must attend both one-hour sessions before any medication is provided. For more information on tobacco cessation programs available, call the HAWC at 734-5505 or 734-5506.
