February is Black History Month. This will be the 33rd anniversary of the month-long celebration and the Tinker African American Heritage Committee will hold several events throughout the month of February.

The Black History Month luncheon will be held Feb. 9 at 11:30 a.m. in the Tinker Club Ballroom. The theme for this year's luncheon is "Quest for Black Citizenship in the Americas." Ticket prices are $13 for club members and $15 for non-members. The deadline to purchase tickets will be Feb. 4. For ticket information, call Staff Sgt. Misty Givens at 736-2601.

The annual Tinker African American Heritage Committee's Scholarship Bowling Tournament will be held Feb. 20 at the Tinker Bowling Center. This is a good opportunity to increase unit morale, with all the proceeds going to the AAHC Scholarship Fund. For more information about the bowling tournament or to enter a team, contact James Smith at 206-8837.

The quarterly Tinker African American Heritage Committee three-on-three basketball tournament will be held Feb. 21 at the Gerrity Gym. For more information about the basketball tournament, or to enter a team, contact Staff Sgt. Tavarus Powell at 409-5410.
