2009 WAPS testing cycle begins for NCOs at Tinker Published Jan. 9, 2009 By 72nd Force Support Squadron TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- Weighted Airman's Promotion System Testing for the 09E6 and 09E7 cycle begins Feb. 1 and runs through March 31. Tinker expects to test approximately 1,500 members for promotion consideration to technical sergeant and master sergeant for the 2009 cycle. Members are required to be ready to test on the first day of the testing cycle. In addition, members are required to review their own DVRs on the Virtual MPF. DVRs will no longer be provided along with testing RIPs. Cell phones, note pads, books, beepers or calculators to include watch calculators are prohibited items in the testing room. Members will not be allowed to test, if they have these items in their possession. Eligible members should contact their unit WAPS monitor in order to sign-up for test dates, if they have not received one already. Testing during local and command exercises and inspections will continue. Member will be exempt from exercises if they are scheduled to test during that period. It is each member's responsibility to ensure he/she has the correct study material. Study materials are listed in the WAPS catalog, which is available through unit WAPS monitors, as well as on the Air Force Personnel Center Web Page at www.afpc .randolph.af.mil, under military testing. "No-show" letters will be sent to unit commanders in reference to members who do not show up for scheduled testing. The following reasons are normally disapproved for rescheduling: ·Oversleeping ·Running late ·Forgetting ·Getting dates and times mixed up ·Reporting to wrong building or room ·Attending out of uniform ·Not producing a valid military ID card WAPS Testing is conducted in the 72nd Air Base Wing Headquarters, Bldg. 460, room 213. Late arrivals will not be admitted into the testing room. Testing will begin at 7:45 a.m. Monday through Friday. Members must pay special attention to the testing times presented. All members must also be in uniform and show a Military ID card in order to test.
