Brig. Gen. Litchfield takes 76th MXW command Tuesday Published Jan. 5, 2009 By Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- Brig. Gen. Bruce A. Litchfield will take command of the 76th Maintenance Wing during a Tuesday change of command ceremony, officiated by Maj. Gen. Loren Reno, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center commander. General Litchfield is taking over for Brig. Gen. Judith Fedder, who is leaving for an assignment as director of Logistics, Head-quarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va. General Litchfield's previous assignment was director of Logistics, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Hickam AFB, Hawaii. He was responsible for the maintenance and support of tactical fighter, reconnaissance and support aircraft; management of supplies and equipment valued at more than $3.3 billion; allocation and maintenance of general- and special-purpose vehicles; and storage and maintenance of war reserve materiel valued at more than $640 million. He also provided guidance and management assistance for 16,488 military and civilian logistics personnel assigned to PACAF. He was responsible for PACAF's 178,000 short ton conventional munitions stockpile valued at $4.8 billion, stored and maintained at locations in the U.S. Pacific Command area of responsibility. He was also the director of Logistics for Joint Task Force 519 and is responsible for campaign logistics support for all military forces assigned to the task force. General Litchfield entered the Air Force in 1981 as a distinguished graduate from the ROTC program at Norwich University, Vt. He has commanded a supply squadron, logistics group and combat support systems wing. During General Fedder's time at the 76th MXW, some significant awards within the wing include: -- Maintenance Effectiveness Award -- Air Force Outstanding Unit Award -- Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award and Air Force Best Practice -- Shingo Public Sector Prize Bronze Medallion -- Charles B.
