In a battle of the last two undefeated teams in the Thursday Night League, the 327th Aircraft Sustainment Wing took on the 34th Combat Communications Squadron Oct. 30 at the Tinker Sports Complex. When the dust settled, the 327th ASW remained undefeated after the 14-0 shut out.

After a scoreless first quarter, momentum swung toward the 327th ASW in the second quarter.

The turning point after 327th ASW strong safety Chris Montalbano intercepted a pass from Michael Elliot, 34th CCS quarterback, at the 34th CCS 40-yard line.

Mark Jansen then marched his 327th ASW offensive unit down the field. The drive ended with a 20-yard scoring strike to wide receiver Josh Burdening. The following extra point was successful as Jansen ran the ball into the end zone, making the score 8-0 midway through the second period.

With 2:05 remaining in the first half, Jansen hit wide receiver Scott Rinella on a 40-yard scoring pass to increase the 327th ASW lead to 14-0 right before halftime. The second half was a defensive battle for both teams. The 327th ASW defense picked off Elliott two more times preserving the shutout for the Thursday Night League regular season champs.

"To win the regular season title is good," said Jansen. "However, our goal all season has been to capture the overall base championship."

Jansen was the star of the game as he completed 12 of 19 passes for 145 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

"They played an outstanding game," said Elliot. "Congratulations to the 327th ASW on their victory."
