Navy Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron SEVEN recently welcomed a new commanding officer.

Cmdr. Steven Dradzynski relieved Cmdr. Dennis Warren during a change of command ceremony in the VQ-4 hangar bay.

Commander Dradzynski served as the executive officer at VQ-7 for the past year. He became the 14th commanding officer of the Roughnecks squadron, a training squadron under Strategic Communications Wing ONE.

In his comments after taking charge, Commander Dradzynski said he appreciated the opportunity he has been given and thanked Commander Warren for providing a model example of a commanding officer during his time in command.

"It is my distinct honor and privilege to take command of the Roughnecks," Commander Dradzysnki said in his comments. "I am blessed to be able to take charge of such a quality squadron and to have had a great commanding officer serving as my lead over the past year."

Commander Dradzynski also discussed the year ahead with his Sailors. "We will build on our successes from the past year. Skipper Warren has set us on the right road and I look forward to leading the Roughnecks down that path -- delivering highly qualified aircrew to the TACAMO Fleet!"

Rear Adm. Mark D. Guadagnini served as guest speaker for the ceremony. In his role as the overall chief of Naval Air Training, Admiral Guadagnini is responsible for the mission of the Roughnecks squadron, which provides Take Charge and Move Out community Sailors with the operational training they use when flying missions around the world.

Admiral Guadagnini complimented Commander Warren on his time as VQ-7 commanding officer.

During Commander Warren's tour as commanding officer, VQ-7 reached several milestones, including passing the 1,500-day mark without a driving-while-intoxicated incident. The Roughnecks are also working on a 3,000-plus day streak without an illegal drug-related incident. Both marks are well above the Navy average.

Commander Warren will now report to the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74), Bremerton, Wash.
