Navy has options for NCO education Published Sept. 3, 2008 By Danielle Gregory Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla., -- The Navy College Office provides many key programs to Sailors stationed on Tinker."The NCO opens doors to educational opportunities and programs to meet the individual needs and interests of Navy personnel, which for enlisted personnel can be met primarily through the Navy College Program. Detailed program information can be found on the Navy College Program website," said Chris Kern-Garcia, director of the Navy College Office. The NCO curriculum plans range from aiding Sailors in finishing a high school diploma, completing a technical or occupational certification, improving academic skills in reading, math, and English and earning a college degree. The NCO key programs provided to military personnel who would like the opportunity to pursue educational goals on active duty include the following: Navy College Program for Afloat College Education, Servicemembers Opportunity College, DANTES Testing Program, DANTES Troops to Teachers, Department of Veterans' Affairs Educational Assistance Programs, Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership and the Navy Tuition Assistance Program.
