To some, it's the most anticipated yearly event in the Tinker community. It's a time where Tinker members can relax and be catered to for their service.

All Tinker employees have been invited to attend the 2008 Air Force Ball Sept. 19 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum Ballroom. Social hour is at 6 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Tinker Flying High Band and the guest speaker is yet to be announced.

"These events are a great tradition around the Air Force and here at Tinker. It's a time when a base can come together, dress up a little and have a good time," said Capt. Pete Hudlow, who is in charge of coordinating efforts for this year's ball.

Dress for the night will be military, mess dress or semi-formal dress uniform and civilian, black tie or after five.

Ticket sales will be open until Sept. 8. Ticket prices by rank are: E-1 to E-4/GS1-GS4, $15; E-5 to E-7/ GS5-GS6, $25; E-8 to E-9/CGO/GS7-GS11, $30 and 04/GS12, $35. Contact squadron first Sergeant for tickets as well as if a vegetarian dish is needed.
The main dinner course for the night will be raspberry glazed chicken breast and beef loin with cognac blackberry sauce.

For information about the event, contact Capt. Peter Hudlow or Capt. Bruce Goss.
