Operation KUDOS underway Published Aug. 28, 2008 By Airman and Family Readiness Flight Tinker Air Force Base TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla, -- On Sept. 13, the Airman and Family Readiness Flight will host Operation K.U.D.O.S., or Kids Understanding Deployment Operations. K.U.D.O.S. is a program in which children walk through the steps of deployment and learn exactly what happens when their mom or dad deploys. Children will be immersed into the world of military operations while participating in K.U.D.O.S. The children, with their parents, will simulate deploying by receiving individualized ID cards, dog tags, and a mobility bag. All five branches of the military will bring equipment and vehicles for the children to learn about. Kids will have a better understanding of what is going on, and hopefully, they will not be as stressed while their parents are gone. Any DOD dependants from ages 3 to 16 are welcome to attend. Children are encouraged to wear their parent's flight suit or BDU/DCU. For more information, call 405-739-2747. Registration is required in advance. To register, e-mail their names, ages, parents' names, and a "head and shoulders" digital picture of each child to KUDOS@tinker.af.mil.
