Tinker holds 21st annual triathlon

Friends and family members cheered as runners crossed the finish line last Saturday at the 21st Annual Triathlon. Participants competed in a grueling 400-meter swim, 10 kilometer bike and a 5 kilometer run. 

In the Men's Open category Travis Newton took first place with a time of 40 minutes and 33 seconds. Second place went to Mathew DiMaggio who finished in 42.32 and Bob Atkins, 507th Air Refueling Wing claimed third place with a time of 43.25. 

Monica Dzicebinski finished with a time of 53.16 to claim first place in the Women's Open category. David Paxton, Navy took second with a time of 54.58, followed by third place finisher, Bob Atkins, 507 ARW with a time of 56.52. 

In the Senior's Division, first place went to Shad Satterwhite with a time of 48.47. Ladd Parker time of 50.18, 552nd Operations Group won him/her second place and third place went to Bryan Thompson, 965th Airborne Air Control Squadron who finished with a time of 57.19. 

Relay team comprised of the Daren O'Day family, son Dustin and daughter Destiny claimed first place with a 41.05 time. Second place relay team was comprised of Don Wilson, Kaci Wilson and Dan Lay all from the 556th ACSS finishing with a 46.22 time. Third place team member are from the 72 MDSS Melissa Hough, William Breedlove and Scott Blair who finished with a 49.03 time. 

The oldest senior participants to compete in this year's competition were 78 years old Ruth Terronez with a 114 time and Leonard Terronez with a 118 time.
The youngest competitor was 12 year old Tabitha Majewski who competed in the women's division with a 134.28.
