72nd Air Base Wing Change of Command today Published July 18, 2008 By Tinker Public Affairs Tinker Air Force Base -- At 9 a.m. today, Col. Allen Jamerson will take command of the 72nd Air Base Wing from outgoing commander, Col. Mark Correll. The ceremony will take place outside the Tinker Club and all Tinker Air Force Base personnel are invited to attend. Colonel Jamerson is coming from an assignment as the vice commander of the 42nd Air Base Wing, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., and the Gunter Annex. Colonel Jamerson entered the Air Force in 1986 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He was also commissioned as an AFROTC distinguished graduate. He spent much of his career in the Security Forces career field and has served across the globe, from Japan to Alaska. Col. Corell's new assignment is at Air Education and Training Command Headquarters at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, where he will become the next major command civil engineer for the Air Education and Training Command. Buses will be available for those who wish to attend. A bus will pick up at the flagpole in front of Bldg. 3001 at 8:15 a.m. and will return there immediately following the ceremony and again at 10:15 a.m. Another bus will make a circuit beginning at 8:30 a.m., starting at the Family Support Center, Bldg. 6001; then the 72nd Medical Group, Bldg 5801; and finally at the base theater, Bldg. 5703. The circuit bus will return directly following the ceremony until 11 a.m.
