A goal in the last minute of play lifted the Tinker Hawks II to a 7-6 victory over Bio Hazard Aug. 3 at the Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Edmond.

Defenseman Paul Miller put Bio Hazard on the board first. He intercepted a pass at center ice, skated in on Hawks goaltender Dan Petit and shot the puck past him for the 1-0 lead. Miller scored again at 4:10 of the first period to increase the lead to 2-0.

The Hawks cut the lead in half after Dave McClay scored off a pass from Esteban Rodriquez. Just before intermission, the two players teamed again to help the Hawks tied the score. Rodriguez sent a cross ice pass to McClay who tipped it passed the Bio Hazard goalie at 17:45 of period one giving the Hawks a much-needed boost.

The Bio Hazard outscored the Hawks 3-1 in the second period to give them a 5-3 lead heading into the third.

The Hawks' comeback started slowly and methodically in the third period. At the 2:45 mark, Clark McClay scored off the rebound of a shot by Don Burke to cut the lead to 5-4.
The Hawks scored again at 6:17 on a power play goal by Rodriguez, who poked in a rebound on a shot by defenseman Eli McClay.

The Hawks then took the lead at 11:22 of the third period. Eli McClay sent a cross ice pass to Dave McClay, who fed Clark McClay, who skated in on the goalie and put a shot through the five-hole to give the Hawks their first lead of the game.

The Bio Hazard squad did not lie down. Miller skated in on a breakaway with 4:22 remaining and scored on Petit, tying the score at 6.

The comeback was complete in the last minute of play. Defenseman Brandon Burk took the puck in the center ice zone, skated into the Bio Hazard zone and sent a wrist shot from the right face-off circle into the net to put the Hawks up 7-6.

"This was a great win for us. We fell behind early but we never gave up," said Petit.
The win puts the Tinker Hawks II into a tie for first place in the division with their 6-1 record. The loss drops Bio Hazard to 1-3-1 on the season.

The Tinker Hawks II take to the ice again at 2:15 p.m. Sunday against the Screaming Pylons.
