Every week an Airman is chosen to be the Warrior of the Week. WoW's are Ali Base's finest Airmen, an example to others on how to optimize our core values. This week's WoW is Staff Sgt. Steve Pemberton.

Deployed Unit: 407th Expeditionary Communications Squadron
   Home Base: Tinker AFB, Okla.
   Hometown: Lawton, Okla.
Hobbies: "Working out, anything computer related and drawing."
Why did you join the Air Force?   "I wanted a good foundation to start out life, see the world, serve and get an education."
What inspires you?   "My late grandfather and my beautiful girlfriend Jourdan."
What is your most memorable Air Force experience?   "Completing the full Boston Marathon sponsored here at Ali."
Supervisor says:   Staff Sgt. Pemberton troubleshot and repaired UAV streaming reconnaissance video, which helped ensure the security of 10,000 base residents. He also restored a classified Air Terminal Operations Center data link in under an hour allowing 2,000 monthly passengers and supply flights to remain on schedule. He volunteered five hours of off-duty time creating a local ancillary training website which made the training process faster while making the system more stable. Staff Sgt. Pemberton's dedication is evident since he volunteered to stay for an additional four months even though he was deployed to Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq, last year.
