Drivers asked to use both lanes at Hruskocy Gate

Hruskocy Gate is backing up due to drivers starting one lane of traffic well before reaching the serpentine.
The new gate and its roadway are designed for two lanes of traffic which helps assure cars are not stacked back to Interstate-40.
The 72nd Security Forces Squadron is asking Tinker personnel who use the Hruskocy Gate to use both lanes until they reach the barriers. Once at the barriers, it will be a matter of courtesy for drivers to converge into one lane on a one-for-one basis.
Officials realize drivers often integrate into one lane early when driving on highways and interstates. While that makes absolute sense, the situation at Hruskocy Gate is different and will provide more safety for everyone if drivers use all available space provided by both lanes, officials said.
Hruskocy Gate is open from 5:45 to 8:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30  to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. It is closed weekends and holidays.
