"Services...The Best Never Rests...Huah" is the motto of the 72nd Services Squadron as they prepare for the March 21 visit of the Air Force Gen. Curtis E. LeMay Award evaluation team.
The 72nd Services' mission is to contribute to the readiness of Air Force personnel through fitness and subsistence programs; foster unit and community cohesion; support Air Force family well being; and offer efficient customer-driven programs to improve the quality of life for Air Force community.
"We're excited to have the LeMay evaluation team at Tinker," said Col. Mark A. Correll, 72nd Air Base Wing commander. "Our Services Squadron's motto is "the best never rest!" They will see those words turned into action as they visit our services functions. We had a record year in 2007 but it really just highlights Service's drive to make what is good, great; and what is great the best. We look forward to showing the LeMay team the unparalleled programs and support our Services Squadron provides to Team Tinker."
The Services Squadron is composed of a wide range of support activities, including child care, lodging, recreation, food service, fitness, golf, bowling and club programs. The evaluation team will look at every activity within the Services Squadron and evaluate its programs.
"Customer safety and service is paramount to our success and takes priority over and above all other institutions that I have been associated with," said Daniel Bell, Services Squadron Director. "Our unique customer-driven programs set us above the other Services organizations that we will compete against this year. I am extremely proud of what each of our Services staff members bring to the war fighter and have no doubt that we will take home "Best in Air Force". Look around at any of our activities and you will see why Team Services truly lives up to their motto, THE BEST NEVER REST...HUAH!"
The Gen. Curtis E. LeMay Services Award was first established by the Order of the Daedalians in 1965 to recognize the best Air Force Services Program.
Evaluation factors for the AFMC base-level nomination and the LeMay awards are written narratives from competing bases and an on-site visit by an evaluation team.
Team Tinker welcomes AF evaluators from HQ Air Force Services Agency Col. Herman O. Jett, Capt. Christina M. Martin, Mr. Tom Goodwin, Ms. Melissa Wesley and CMSgt. Laten D. Williams.
