Hellifino scores an exciting win over 4 the $$$ Again

Team Hellifino was trying to maintain its top-three position in the Commanders Trophy Bowling League at The Tinker Bowling Center on March 12. In the heat of the battle, Hellifino captured an exciting and thrilling 3264-3250 victory over 4 the $$$ Again. 
   Both teams were entering the match up riding current success on the lanes. 
   The first game of the match, Hellifino started to put the pressure on its opponent with Kevin Mayhew, Karl Dooley, and Dan Girardot each rolling 4, 3, and 4 strikes respectively to start the match. This cut into the lead held by 4 the $$$ Again to 710-683. 
   4 the $$$ Again bowlers Bill Simmons and Robert Perkins returned the favor with   multiple strikes of their own. This masterful bowling display gave them 801-789 lead heading into the eighth frame. 
   Dooley took his team on his right arm by rolling an additional four strikes giving his team a hard-fought 1116-1094 victory. 
   "They key to winning game one was the bowling of Karl. His awesome score in game one was the difference, said Girardot. 
   "I could not find my line in game one and it was evident in my score," said Simmons. 
   The second game of the match witnessed the 4 the $$$ Again quintet, Bob Hansen, Tracy Palmer, Dale Michaelis, Simmons, and Perkins turned up the heat on the lanes. 
   Perkins started the turned with three consecutive strikes to open game two. Simmons then followed suit with a run of four straight strikes through frame seven giving his side a 776-716 advantage. 
   The hot bowling of Simmons and Perkins continued and were able to capture game two 1084-1062. 
   "It is all even now. We won game one by 22 pins and they won game two by 22 pins. The match is now all even and the team the bowls the best in game three will be the victor," said Girardot. 
   Hellifino got off to a flying start in game with all of their bowlers rolling a strike in frame one. Simmons and Perkins responded to call once again by each rolling four strikes in a row to open game three giving their side a lead of 100 pins heading into the sixth frame. 
   Hellifino took the lead 814-812 in the seventh frame on the strength of Traci Applebee, Mayhew, and Dooley. They all rolled strikes in the seventh frame to match their exploits they did in the first frame. 
   Each team matched each other strike for strike and spare for spare heading to the tenth frame. The outcome came down to Girardot. He was able to overcome a two-pin deficit and throw two strikes and a nine-count giving Hellifino a well-earned 1086-1072 victory. 
   "That was an awesome match, we all had to throw strikes when we needed them to win out tonight," said Girardot. 
   The win by Hellifino improved their record to 130.0-78.0; while the loss by 4 the $$$ Again dropped their record to 106.0-102.0.
