   Teen Aviation Camp
Air Force Services is excited to offer an outstanding teen summer camp opportunity. In conjunction with the United States Air Force Academy, the ninth annual Air Force Services Teen Aviation Camp will be held at the USAFA in Colorado Springs, CO.
The camp will be conducted May 31 through June 5 and is open to eligible high school students entering their sophomore or junior year in the fall of 2008. Teens eligible for application must be dependents of active duty military assigned to or living on an Air Force Base, retired Air Force military member, Air Force civilian employees or activated Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve. Youth who participated in the 2007 Teen Aviation Camp are not eligible to apply this year.
Teens interested in aviation, leadership or the USAFA must complete the nomination form, Familiarization Exam, and submit the package to their base Youth Programs. Tinker's Teen Director Judy LeClaire will interview the applicants and provide a summary of the results along with the application package. Sign up deadline at the Youth Center is March 14. For more information, visit www.AFYouthPrograms.com.
All lodging, meals and program costs will be centrally funded at no cost to participants or their bases. Airline or privately owned vehicle travel costs to Colorado Springs are the responsibility of the participant. Selected teen participants will arrive in Colorado Springs on May 31, and depart the morning of June 5. Participants will not travel with an adult staff from their Youth Programs. Aviation Camp staff members will be at the Colorado Springs airport to meet participants and provide transportation to the USAFA. All teens will then be introduced to the Air Force Academy through an extensive and active schedule.
