Tinker bowler reaches perfection Published Feb. 5, 2008 By John E. Banks Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- Sometimes during the chase of perfection you can even surprise yourself. That was case for David Harris of the Air Force Flight Standards Agency, who bowled a perfect game on Jan. 29 at the Tinker Bowling Center. "The key tonight was my teammates," said Harris, who bowls for Here for the BEER. "The applause and ability to keep me focused enabled me to reach this achievement." Harris, a bowler for more than 30 years, said he thoroughly enjoys the sport of bowling. He said the highlight of his bowling career was having his mom and wife present at his last perfect game. Jan. 29 was pretty special as well, he said. "My teammate Bill Perrott kept me loose all night," Harris said. "My legs were shaking so bad on the 11th strike, I thought I might not be able to get the ball down the lane." He received a standing ovation from every bowler competing in the Commanders Trophy League. "I was amazed and stunned," he said. "My confidence and my faith enabled me to get this done."
