CHAPLAIN'S CORNER: Forgot your login? Published Jan. 23, 2008 By Chaplain (Capt.) David E. Del Prado Tinker Chapel TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- If you are like me you probably have dozens of logins. You have one for your work computer, for your internet service provider (ISP) at home, for online banking, your blackberry or personal digital assistant (PDA) and for as many online subscriptions you have registered for. Very few of us have a photographic memory to remember all those logins. Some folks have found creative secure avenues to keep track of their logins if not they would be contacting the help desk every other day. If our list of logins has not been kept up-to-date we find ourselves clicking on the Forgot My Login option most websites we have memberships with require in order to enter and complete the business we are their to accomplish. One of the biggest frustrations I have found is when a website has to send you your login via snail mail; the only option one particular government website used until recently when they upgraded their system and now has the capability of sending you an encrypted email. Another irritation is when a website took several hours to send you an email with your login. Sometimes we may feel as if talking to our teenagers, our spouse, or even our boss demands a login; carefully selecting the right word(s) or tone of voice to prevent them from getting on the defensive like the computer when it responds with "Incorrect login try again." Then after three to five attempts we get locked out! Here is some good news. There is still a place and a person with whom logins are not necessary. The person is God and the place is in His presence. You can be in your house just waking up each morning, in your car, securing a Tinker gate or the flight line, exercising at Glenwood or in an office, on temporary duty (TDY) or moving (PCSing). Whatever the location or circumstances you can speak to God without a login. You don't even have to call God, God. The moment your heart and mind are directed to Him his network automatically detects your conversation and alerts Him and He listens. His network is so high tech that there is never any reduction in speed or quality in voice over internet provider (VoIP). Do you need to talk to God today, this moment? Just begin expressing your thoughts and feelings. Whatever you're opening word or statement is that's your login. God understands you right where you are. Then if you let God, He will walk with you lifting you up to where you need to be. Forgot your login? Not with God. Give it try!
