Both teams were coming off losses in the previous week of intramural basketball action. The 552nd OSS dominated the play early behind the shooting of forward Norman Williams. He scored eight of his team's first 10 points, leading them to an early 10-2 advantage. "Norman played really well for us tonight," said 552nd OSS forward Justin Davis. "He kept us going and made key shots all night long." The duo of Matthew Mullins and James Campbell rallied the 552nd AMXS by scoring six points apiece during a five-minute stretch of the first half.
