Fitness centers offer ways to keep resolutions

At the start of the New Year, many people make resolutions to maintain healthier lifestyles.
   While most eventually abandon this resolution, the Tinker Fitness Centers are here to help people keep their New Year's resolutions this year.
   With a variety of free instructional classes, fitness trainers and sports programs, everyone can customize their own fitness plans.
   If you are interested in taking a group exercise class, there are many options. From cardio kickboxing to yoga, there are classes suited to every person's needs. The Gerrity Fitness and Sports Center as well as the 3705 Fitness Center both offer classes.
   The classes are free and no sign-up is required. All you have to do is show up for a class that you're interested in; with no obligation to keep attending if the class is not for you.

   There are several different group exercise classes to fit anyone's needs.
   Cardio Kickboxing is a high-energy class inspired by martial arts movements.
   Power Pump is a barbell program that challenges all your major muscle groups in an hour. It uses the best weight-room exercises like squats, lunges, presses and curls.
   Cardio Fitness Dance is a cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. This class uses the latest dance moves, chart topping songs and retro classics to get you up and moving. You do not have to be dancer to enjoy this class.
   Yoga/Pilates is a class that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm using yoga and Pilates movements. This class is structured around a series of stretches, moves and poses to music to create a workout that will enable you to center your energy, improve your balance and reduce stress.
   Super Step is for the step maniacs who can't get enough choreography. It is an easy-to-follow step training class with lots of intensity. This class is great for beginners and experienced steppers alike.
   Cardio Party is an hour of a combination of hi-low routines, step, floor works, core conditioning and much more.
   Yoga class is a series of defined poses, concentrating on breathing and flexibility. For those who are interested in a more intense workout more than one day a week, there are also a few options offered.
   Boot Camp is a great total body workout, where the instructor will have you alternating between sprints, push-ups, abdominals, intervals and weight training. This class will get you into shape in no time.
   Fitness Challenge class will increase your heart rate, burn fat and calories. This class includes cardio combined with weight training.
   Circuit Training class will have you alternating between step, running and resistance training. This class will make you sweat.
   The 3705 Fitness Center also offers a variety of classes. The classes are 30 minutes and offered on weekdays. Class times and days information is available by calling 3705 Fitness Center.
   Cycling class is based on indoor cycling and includes sprints, hills and jumps. This class will definitely increase your heart rate.
   The Kick 'n Tone class combines cardio kickboxing and strength workout and is designed for all fitness levels. Yoga class is a great way to gain strength, flexibility and relieve stress.
   Cardio Boxing class is a great way to get active and punch and jab your way to fitness.    
   Cardio Crunch combines cardio workouts with abdominal workouts. This class is a great way to strengthen your core muscles.
   Pilates class will strengthen and provide balance in the muscles.
   Another great option for those looking to start a healthier lifestyle is a personal trainer.    
   If you are looking for one-on-one time with a trainer for a specific and personal guideline on how to get healthy and get in shape, Gerrity Fitness and Sports Center has personal trainers available for appointments. If that still is not what you are looking for, there are also military staff members who are available at the gym who have basic knowledge and guidance to start you off in your exercise program.
   If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or struggling with obesity, Gerrity Fitness and Sports Center and 3705 Fitness Center both offer a free exercise prescription for what you need to get healthy.
   If you are looking to get involved in a sport, there are many intramural and varsity sports offered throughout the year. Special sports events are also held frequently.
