The 555th Aircraft Sustainment Squadron welcomed a new commander last Friday when Col. Michael Pelletier relieved Col. James H. Hall during a change of command ceremony at the Tinker Club.
Colonel Hall took the reigns of command for the 555th ACSS June 2004. After 30 years of service in maintenance and logistics, Colonel Hall released those reigns to Colonel Pelletier, the former director of Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century for the 327th Aircraft Sustainment Wing at Tinker.
Colonel Hall thanked the entire B-1 team for all their hard work and for the many projects they completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
"You're the reason why the B-1 Bomber is the workhorse of the war and in the fight everyday," Colonel Hall said.
After both colonels performed the official change of command, the new commander made some short remarks.
"I am truly honored by the opportunity to lead you," Colonel Pelletier said. "The B-1B is the backbone of airpower and we must never forget the lives of Airmen, Soldiers, Marines and Navy Seals depends on our own parallel support to the B-1B."
Colonel Pelletier's remarks ended with an insight into his down-to-earth leadership.
"Time to roll up our sleeves and get back to work," he said.
Colonel Pelletier joined the Air Force in 1985 and was the top graduate in his Reserve Officer Training Corps detachment. Prior to his position as the 327th ASW AFSO21 director, he was the commander of the 412th Maintenance Group, Edwards AFB, Calif. He has held positions in acquisition, logistics, maintenance and research and development. He also has aircraft flight test, flight line and backshop maintenance experience.
