Top 8th AF enlisted member to visit 552nd Air Control Wing Published Nov. 8, 2007 By 552nd Air Control Wing Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- With the upcoming transition of 8th Air Force to Air Force Cyberspace Command merely months away, the current command's senior enlisted member will make a stopover at Tinker Air Force Base next week to discuss that subject and more with enlisted members of the 552nd Air Control Wing. As the command chief master sergeant for 8th Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., and the Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike and Integration, U.S. Strategic Command, at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., Chief Master Sgt. Todd A. Kabalan advises the commander on all matters concerning the morale, welfare, assignment, and effective utilization of more than 40,000 enlisted personnel assigned to these global information operations and warfighting headquarters. Eighth Air Force comprises 10 expeditionary wings, and is the Air Force component for U.S. Strategic Command, providing nuclear and computer network operations capability for the Air Force. The command also oversees the warfighting capability and the operational readiness of the "Mighty Eighth's" B-2 Spirit and B-52 Stratofortress bombers; along with the E-8C Joint STARS, EC-130H Compass Call, E-3B Sentry, RC-135 Rivet Joint, and U-2S Dragon Lady. Chief Kabalan entered the Air Force in August 1978 and his background includes various duties in security forces including special duty as an instructor at the United States Air Force Security Police Academy and as a degree program administrator at the Community College of the Air Force.
