The world famous Clydesdales were on display Oct. 12 at Tinker to show support and thank the service members for their continued excellence.
"We want to show our appreciation for the Tinker Airmen and hope that they and their families could get some enjoyment from the world famous Clydesdales," said Pete Peterson, director of the touring Clydesdales team.
Eight horses -- Mitch, Yankee, Darth, Diamond, Kyle, Sterling, Chester and Doc -- were on display along with the team's Dalmation, King.
Scores of kids were on hand to see the animals up close.
"These horses are really big and that is cool," said Jacob Ritsema, an 8-year old who was amazed at the sight of the horses.
Sisters Mariposa Almazon and Mylea Chavez were amazed at the size of the horses as well.
"They are very big and pretty," said Mylea.
This Clydesdales team led by Petersen has been on display at numerous national and worldwide events, including the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Olympics, the Presidential Inaugural Parade and the Oklahoma Centennial Parade.
"We really enjoy the interaction with people when we show off these majestic animals," Petersen said.
