New IG takes reigns on Monday Published Sept. 14, 2007 By Kandis West Tinker Air Force Base Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- Inspector General Col. Paul A. Davidson is handing over the reigns to Col. Anthony K. Deckard current 552nd Operations Group deputy commander, Monday. After nearly 30 years of military service, Col. Davidson said he is looking forward to retiring. "We're building a house and I'll get settled in to that, ride my Harley as much as possible, tour around some and enjoy being retired," Col. Davidson said. Although Col. Davidson spent most of his career in maintenance and logistics, he said he enjoyed the challenge of this position he's held since last October. He said being the IG allowed him to help many people from various units. "We talk a lot in the Air Force about people being our most valuable resource, but in this position, you really get to put those words into action," the colonel said. Col. Davidson will officially retire Oct. 9. Col. Deckard said this position suits him, because by nature he is an inquisitive person and enjoys helping people. "I look forward to being able to advance the mission of the Air Force by helping our people resolve issues and satisfy their needs," Col. Deckard said.
