JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas – The Air Force has announced the winners of the 2026 Air Force Innkeeper Awards, recognizing the best lodging facilities in the Air Force.
Moron Air Base, Spain is the 2026 winner in the Small category, and Travis Air Force Base, California was tops in the Large category.
"This prestigious award recognizes lodging teams that exemplify excellence in delivering world‑class hospitality to our Airmen, Guardians, and their families," said Col. Jo Eychner, Air Force Services Center commander. "Their work directly strengthens mission readiness and enhances quality of life across the force."
The AFSVC Innkeeper Evaluation Board, a team of lodging and program experts, conducted a thorough virtual assessment of installations. Each nominee was evaluated on customer service, financial management, and overall support activities.
"The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the teams at Morón AB and Travis AFB set the benchmark for lodging operations across the Air Force," Eychner said. "Their achievements reflect outstanding leadership and an unwavering focus on delivering the best possible service."
Managed by AFSVC, the Air Force Innkeeper Awards program was established in 1981 to recognize installation-level lodging facilities providing the most outstanding accommodations and customer service to travelers. The competition is divided into two categories, small lodging (285 rooms or less) and large lodging (286 rooms and more).
