AFA chapter announces honorees

The Air Force Association, Gerrity Chapter, recently announced 2016 awards for nine individuals and one community partner.

The winners will represent the Gerrity Chapter and compete at the Air Force Association Oklahoma state-level awards. 

Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. Tyner M. Apt, OC-ALC/LCBP

Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Brack R. Miller, 552nd Operations Support Squadron/OSD

Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Mark S. Whittaker, 552nd Operations Support Squadron/OSL

Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Noelle L. Burleson, 72 AMDS/SGPM

Best Military Unit of the Year:  72nd Force Support Squadron

Civilian Manager of the Year: Gregory B. Burgess, AFSC/72nd LRS/LGR

Contractor of the Year: Susan L. Bomar, 72nd Logistics Readiness Squadron/LGRV

AFROTC Cadet of the Year: Cadet Jeremiah W. Cox, AFROTC/Detachment 675

Community Partner of the Year:  Old Germany Restaurant

An awards breakfast will be held June 23 at the Tinker Club. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. The meal will be served at 7. Lt. Gen. Lee Levy II, Air Force Sustainment Center commander, will be the guest speaker. Commanders, first sergeants, co-workers, family and nominees are encouraged to attend.
