Major earns 72nd ABW Wildcatter Award Published June 10, 2016 By 72nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Maj. (Dr.) Nicholas Davis, a general surgeon assigned to the 72nd Medical Operations Squadron, recently received a 72nd Air Base Wing Wildcatter Award from 72nd ABW Commander Col. Stephanie Wilson. Dr. Davis guides a staff of two general surgeons, one registered nurse and three licensed practical nurses, while coordinating care at three facilities. Dr. Davis performs more than 50 initial evaluations, 15 minor procedures and 55 follow ups per month. Additionally, Dr. Davis performs more than 40 off-base surgeries and arthroscopic procedures. His dedication to his service does not stop there as he is also an on-call surgeon for Oklahoma University's level 1 trauma facility. There Dr. Davis routinely provides lifesaving medical support to incoming emergency trauma cases from all over the state of Oklahoma.
