Around Tinker: FOD Fighters Published May 20, 2016 By 567th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 567th AMXS/MXDPA B-1 Integrated Battle Station Section. They are the OC-ALC Quarterly FOD award winner for FY16-2. The shop earned this achievement based on its ability to apply the crew concept, meaning the docks were divided evenly among the aircraft skills. The decision to assign work areas (Docks) to different crews fostered "pride and ownership" across the Section. Since adopting this type of process, they have seen significant reductions in FOD related issues and received praise from senior leaders touring the facility. In fact, the B-1 IBS Section continues to be the facility of choice for most, if not all senior leader tours for the complex. In addition to the praise from Senior Leaders touring the facility, the Quality Assurance data shows that during FY16-2, the IBS Section passed 69 inspections, eight of which were FOD and Housekeeping focused, all with ZERO defects. Finally, the strong commitment to FOD Awareness in the production areas has helped the squadron achieve its highest monthly QA Pass rate in almost two years - 92.90 percent.
